Sunday Evening Service

• Starts at 6.30pm
• Normally, there is no evening service in the months of July and August - but check the Calendar for exceptions.
• When there are 5 Sundays in a month, joint services are held in various East End of Glasgow churches rotationally. Check the Calendar for specific details as to which church the service will be held on any 5th Sunday of the month. Not infrequently we have special events or speakers at these joint evening services.
• In Oct and Nov 2008 and Jan and Feb 2009 a Christianity Explored course was held in the New Church Hall replacing the Sunday Evening service. This course was aimed at anyone who was interested in exploring what Christianity is all about (I'll let you into a secret - its all about JESUS!)
• Teas and coffees served after the Sunday evening services but during the Christianity Explored course which formally lasts for 1 hour, but the following discussion which is optional often exceeds another hour so great is the interest in the discussion topics.
• The final Christianity Explored lesson is on Sunday evening 22nd February 2009 starting as usual at 6.30pm. The normal Evening Services will resume on Sunday 1st March 2009 at which the Lord's Supper will be celebrated. All who love and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour are welcome to share at His table. The invitation is NOT ours, it is Jesus Christ who invites yo to partake at His table.

The Guild (Jesus - "Whose we are and whom we seek to serve")

• Starts at 7.30pm on Thursday evenings and meets in the New Hall.

• Teas and coffees served after the service

Causeway Prospects
This is a Christian organisation that provides fellowship for adults with learning difficulties and their carers and meets in the New Hall on the last Friday of each month at 7.30pm (excluding the holiday months of July and August). In addition, on the 4th Saturday of each month (excluding July and August) the adults help their carers to run a cafe for the general public that has greatly facilitated the acceptance of adults with learning difficulties within the local community.
Causeway Prospects is NOT a St Andrew's Church organisation, but St Andrew's supports Causeway Prospects as a service to the community.
Members from St Andrew's, some members from other churches and some non-members, run a 'Nearly New' charity shop on Tollcross Road, near Parkhead Cross to raise funds for this very worthwhile Christian charity.

Ecumenical Activities

• Baillieston St Andrew's has representation on the ecumenical grouping known as 'Baillieston Churches Together'. This grouping, in addition to Baillieston St Andrew's Church of Scotland, includes
      - Mure Memorial Church of Scotland (in Garrowhill)
      - and local churches of other denominations.
• Every year, on Good Friday, a number of members of 'Baillieston Churches Together' and other Christians participate in a 'Walk of Faith' as a witness to their faith. This year (21st March 2008) they left from Garrowhill Muir Memorial Church and walked to Baillieston St Andrew's, where a welcome tea and coffee was provided.
• Baillieston St Andrew's also enjoys a close relationship with the 'Gospel Hall' gathered congregation that meets in Church Street, Baillieston. A number of our members regularly attend the Tuesday meetings held in this church, and our Minister addressed this meeting late in 2008. The Christianity Explored course in 2007, run by St Andrew's, actually met in the Gospel Hall.
• Another local church with which we have very good ecumenical relationship is Earterhouse Baptist church and some of the members of this church regularly attend the Sunday Evening services in St Andrew's.
• We also enjoy good ecumenical relationship with other local Churches of Scotland including Bargeddie, Sandyhills, St Margarets Tollcross Park, Shettleston New, Mount Vernon and Carmyle.

Alcoholics Anonymous

• Starts at 7.30pm on Saturday evenings and normally meets in the New Hall (unless the Sanctuary or New Hall is required for a special event, in which case they meet in the Old Hall in Church Street).
• This is a service to the community, NOT a Church organisation, but St Andrew's supports its efforts by providing hall accommodation.
